Privacy Policy

At StudyThis, we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use this learning platform (courses, notes, quizzes and certificates), how we use it, and the choices you have. By using our services, you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

a. Information you give us

• Account details: your full name, email address and password. Your password is stored only in an encrypted (hashed) form that cannot be read, even by us.
• Roll number (optional), if you choose to provide it.
• Messages you send us through the contact form or by email.
• For instructors: designation and an uploaded signature image, used on certificates.

We do not ask for your phone number, and we do not collect card, bank or UPI details. All courses are currently free.

b. Learning information

• Courses you join, lessons and pages you open, time spent studying, and your progress.
• Notes and bookmarks you save.
• Quiz attempts, answers and scores. To keep quizzes fair, a quiz also records when you leave the quiz page (for example by switching tabs).
• Certificates issued to you.

c. Technical information

• Your IP address, recorded when you log in or ask for a password reset, to protect accounts against password-guessing and misuse.
• Standard information your browser sends to any website (such as browser and device type), which our hosting provider may record in server logs for security and reliability.

2. How we use your information

• To create and manage your account, and to let you log in securely.
• To give you access to courses, track your progress, and let you continue where you stopped.
• To run quizzes, calculate results and issue certificates.
• To show instructors the progress and results of students in their courses, so they can support them.
• To send emails you need, such as password-reset links, and to answer your messages.
• To keep the platform secure and to improve our courses.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone, and we do not use it for advertising.

3. Certificates and public verification

Each certificate has a unique ID and a QR code so that others, such as employers or colleges, can check it is genuine. Anyone who has the certificate ID can see the name on the certificate, the course, the score and the date on our verification page. Share your certificate only with people you want to show it to.

4. Sharing of information

We share information only when needed to run the platform:

• Hosting provider: the platform and its database are hosted by a web-hosting company that stores the data on our behalf.
• Email service: used to deliver emails such as password-reset links.
• Fonts and the PDF viewer: pages load fonts from Google Fonts and the notes viewer from a public content network (cdnjs). These services receive your IP address when your browser downloads those files.
• Legal authorities: only when required by law.

If paid courses are offered in the future, payments will be handled by a trusted payment gateway (such as Razorpay), and your card, bank or UPI details will not be stored on our servers.

5. Cookies

We use one essential cookie to keep you logged in during your visit. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not use analytics services. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but you will then not be able to log in.

6. Data storage and protection

• Passwords are stored only in hashed form; connections to the site use HTTPS (encrypted).
• Lesson files, certificates data and administration pages are protected so that only authorised users can open them.
• We keep the platform and its security settings up to date.

We keep your account information for as long as your account exists. Security records such as login attempts and password-reset requests are kept only for a short time. Certificate records are kept so that issued certificates can continue to be verified.

7. Your rights

• Access and correct: you can see your learning record in your dashboard, and ask us to correct your details.
• Deletion: you can ask us to delete your account. Note that after deletion your certificates can no longer be verified.
• Questions or complaints: you can contact us at any time, and you may also raise a concern with the relevant data-protection authority.

8. Children’s privacy

Our courses are intended for learners aged 13 and above. Learners under 18 should use the platform with the knowledge and consent of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continuing to use the platform after a change means you accept the updated policy.
